Stay Hungry - Stay Foolish!

Those were the parting words of advice from Steve Jobs’ commencement speech to Stanford University.  Big changes are ahead for me, based on my personal reflection of late.  I recently took some time off for personal reflection and introspection. I’ve worked in the mental health and child welfare space for over 30 years now. It has been an absolute honor and pleasure to work with thousands of children, families, teachers, and child welfare workers over that span.  Although I will cherish the experience of connecting with so many wonderful, dedicated, challenging, and amazing people of all ages during this span, I’m also well aware of time fleeting and the urgency to complete some personal goals that I had put aside for some time. The time to re-focus has been long overdue.

So, perhaps my decisions seem foolish to some, but I firmly believe we cease growing when we cease challenging ourselves to live outside the comfort zone.  For now, and hopefully forever, I’m staying hungry and foolish.
